You are required to carry your pack on and off trains and buses, up hotel steps, etc. Your itinerary may include easy paced walks or bike rides, but these are on mainly flat ground.
Expect to rough it every now and again, whether it's very simple group-share accommodation at a homestay, a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, the odd cold shower or an encounter with a squat toilet.

This trip travels to a relatively conservative area. We encourage you to experience the destination and culture with the following in mind:
Accommodation - We do not foresee any problems, however there may be occasions when a same sex couple may be asked to sleep in single beds rather than sharing a double. We appreciate your cooperation.
Public Display of affection - These are frowned upon in this region among all travellers, not just those on an OUT Adventure. This includes holding hands in public.
Gay Activities - This trip may not have specific gay hosted events, meals or day tours due to the cultural sensitivity of this region. We will do our best to provide a safe, comfortable environment for you and your fellow travellers to experience this culture.

OUT Family Adventures are designed for families only (ie. at least one parent or legal guardian and at least one child). Minimum age for children is 6 years old, maximum is 17 years old.
There is so much to see in Beijing and so many ways to see it. Hire a bike and join the locals as they ride through the city, or shop in the intricate maze of markets. Jump on a rickshaw for a tour of the old style alleyways and courthouses of the hutongs. Catch a performance by Beijing acrobats, pace across Tiananmen Square and explore the imperial Forbidden City. Then it's time to stroll the incredible Great Wall of China. Built to keep out the 'barbarians of the north', the wall rises high on mountain ridges and stretches for over 6,000 km.
Visit one of the 20th century's greatest archaeological sites. For 2,000 years, the eternally vigilant Army of Terracotta Warriors guarded the ancient imperial necropolis in Xi'an. Escape the hustle and bustle of the streets in the serene Great Mosque, watch the sunset from atop the enormous city walls and nibble on delicious food from the evening markets. The mornings, when locals are out exercising en mass, are a great time to wander around the parks. Join in, make some friends and learn some tai chi or even ballroom dancing moves.
Thousands of towering limestone peaks rise from lush surroundings in this picturesque region of southern China. Explore the magical countryside by bike, learn the craft of Chinese cooking, try your hand at calligraphy or take a boat ride along the Li River as it winds between the mystical peaks, each with its own evocative name.
Vibrant Hong Kong is jam-packed with things to do - take a tram up Victoria Peak for panoramic city views, enjoy a harbour cruise or explore the excellent interactive museums. There is an option to visit the nearby Ocean Park and Disneyland or head over to Stanley Market to pick up some silk or handicraft mementos of this fantastic Chinese experience.
