Be prepared for some serious physical activity. This may be treks of up to 6 hours per day in steep terrain, or extended bike rides of more than one day. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy your holiday.
Expect to rough it every now and again, whether it's very simple group-share accommodation at a homestay, a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, the odd cold shower or an encounter with a squat toilet.

This trip travels to a relatively conservative area. We encourage you to experience the destination and culture with the following in mind:
Accommodation - We do not foresee any problems, however there may be occasions when a same sex couple may be asked to sleep in single beds rather than sharing a double. We appreciate your cooperation.
Public Display of affection - These are frowned upon in this region among all travellers, not just those on an OUT Adventure. This includes holding hands in public.
Gay Activities - This trip may not have specific gay hosted events, meals or day tours due to the cultural sensitivity of this region. We will do our best to provide a safe, comfortable environment for you and your fellow travellers to experience this culture.

Important information regarding new regulations and booking procedures for the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
The Plaza Mayor, in the heart of Lima's historic centre, is an excellent place to get a feel for Peru's colonial past. Nearby, the Museo de la Inquisicion offers an insight into the Spanish Inquisition and the beautiful Monasterio de San Francisco houses some fascinating catacombs.
With an intriguing blend of Inca and Spanish architecture, there is plenty to see and do in Cuzco. Take a walking tour to get acquainted with some of the lesser-known sights of this fascinating town.
Visit Pisac with its famous artisan market and travel through the fertile Sacred Valley, where most of the region's fresh produce is grown. Look out for the maize crops surrounding the river and covering the terraces stretching high into the valley walls. These crops have long been the main source of food for the high Andes.
Trek along one of the trails that once linked the Inca Empire. The ancient paths wind past mountains, across high plateaus and through dense cloud forest and temple ruins. Climb over challenging mountain passes, including Dead Woman's Pass, and camp out in the evenings. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the Sun Gate, and watch magnificent Machu Picchu rising from the mist. Rest for a moment before striking out to uncover the mystery of these amazing Inca ruins.
For an active farewell to Peru, it's possible to explore the Urubamba River or go mountain biking through the Sacred Valley. For those with weary legs, head to Plaza de Armas and enjoy free time to explore more of Cuzco's sights.

| "Experiencing a great vacation can be hard, particularly if you're single. So many things can go wrong - or at least not right. With Out Adventures, it seems they cut the variables down. I had a great time with an amazing group of guys that happened to be gay. Peru was an incredible place to visit and the place, combined with my travel companions, allowed for a very fulfilling trip on a social and personal level. The planning and pace of the trip made my time in Peru feel comfortable and easy. I would recommend Out Adventures and the Peru trip to anyone." | |

| "One of the best vacations I've ever had. Active is the only way to go. Some people like to "do nothing" on their vacations. I'd much rather do something on my vacation. In fact that would be the perfect tag line. OUT Adventures - Do Something!" | |
