Get a feel for San Jose on a guided sightseeing walk through the city. There are plenty of museums, cafes and shops to visit, or simply relax in the main plaza and watch the world pass by.

Set beneath an active volcano and with waterfalls and hot springs dotted amongst the forests, La Fortuna is the ideal spot to soak up the Costa Rican vibe. Head into the beautiful surrounds and explore the emerald countryside by bike and on foot. Discover the cool waters of the La Fortuna Waterfall - a favourite for cooling off in - and maybe take a canopy tour for a birds-eye view of the forest. A visit to the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge can't be missed.

Set between two cloud forests, this secluded Quaker settlement is a delight to explore. Hike or ride through the verdant cloud forest to admire the vast array of plants, birds and animals. This area is home to monkeys, sloths, butterflies and a whole range of weird and wonderful amphibians.

Discover the white sand beaches, tropical vegetation and turquoise waters of Manuel Antonio National Park. Hike along the trails to spot some of the abundant wildlife or take to the oceans to swim, kayak or surf. With clearly marked trails, secluded bays and rocky headlands to explore this is Costa Rica at its best.

Return to San Jose and perhaps enjoy a meander through the stalls of the Central Market, see the vast collection of shimmering art at the Gold Museum or catch a show at the city's pride and joy - the National Museum.

Most of our trips require a compulsory local payment, which is part of the contract with you (the customer) and OUT Adventures. This amount is the final payment for your trip and is to be paid in the specified currency, in cash to your leader upon arrival. The local payment is non-refundable, and is considered part of the total trip payment.

It is expensive to transfer funds to many countries - so by making a Local Payment you help us keep your costs low.

The Local Payment is used for paying for local services such as hotels and transport.

No, as the money is used to pay for local services these cannot be paid elsewhere.
