Going Green


OUT Adventures believes that how we operate as a company is as important as the philosophy of travel that we encourage. And it starts by reducing our environmental impact at home.


OUT Adventures' Green Initiatives


  • Use 100% green energy in the corporate office
  • Minimize paper usage through a "no unnecessary printing policy"
  • All office paper is made from 100% recycled sources
  • Encourage customers and travel agents to view the e-brochure and print only when required
  • Promotional material will only be sourced and printed by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) printers
  • Corporate flights are carbon offset
  • Offer our customers the choice to carbon offset flights
  • All OUT Adventure trips will be carbon neutral by 2011

Becoming Carbon Neutral


To become carbon neutral is to take responsibility for the greenhouse gas emissions we create every time we drive our cars, take a taxi, take a flight or even turn on a computer.

OUT Adventures is pro-actively measuring our impacts, reducing where we can, sourcing from renewable energy and, for what remains, investing in responsible carbon projects or buying carbon credits that reduce greenhouse gases in amounts equal to what we are emitting.


OUT Adventures' Carbon Neutral Goals:


  • Offset all corporate flights and transportation, as well as source 100% green power for office use
  • Offer a carbon offset tool on our website for our travellers to offset their flights in 2009
  • Conduct a carbon audit on all trips and offer travellers the opportunity to offset the impact of these trips
  • By 2011, all OUT Adventure run trips will include the cost of the carbon offset in the final price, thereby ensuring all trips for all passengers are carbon neutral.
