And, in keeping with our Thailand theme make sure you check out the Thailand Video Diaries. Rob documented some of the more memorable moments of the trip including Bangkok, the night train to Chiang Mai, Sukhotai's historic sites by bike, and the train ride over the River Kwai. You'll be sure to be inspired to book on our next Comfort Thailand Trip, departing on August 2nd, 2009.

Click here to watch the videos and if they aren't enough to make you fall in love with this beautiful country, read the honest and straighforward article written by Gordon Bowness of xtra.ca and Xtra! Bi-weekly here

Peru...going, going, almost gone

With only 3 spots left on our May 15, 2009 departure make sure to book now. In the last issue of Get OUT! We profiled this amazing country and this fantastic 8 day trip.

And who would believe the cost of this trip with a last minute 15% discount? For only $930.75 (plus $300USD local payment) you will get to experience a trip of a lifetime and with the highlight of a 3 day trek along the Lares Trek to the ultimate prize - the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Traditionally clients hear only of the Inca Trail. While the Inca Trail is the most popular route to Machu Picchu, the Lares Trek has some pretty intriguing benefits. First, our group will trek alone and not with the other 480+ world travellers that descend on the Inca Trail each day. We will have the beautiful Andes at our disposal, we will choose our own camp sites, visit remote Peruvian villages and perhaps encounter some wildlife on the way. It's bound to be an exciting adventure.

Destination South Africa

From spotting the Big 5 to New Year's Eve in one of the gay capitals of the world, Capetown...OUT South Africa Experience, departing December 17, 2009 has it all.

South Africa is multi-faceted, beautiful and not quite easy to grasp. There is the pure beauty of the land itself: white, sandy beaches, cool and fresh breezes in the Drakensberg Mountains, the impressive sense of space in the Karoo desert and the grace of giraffes moving across bushland. South Africa also has all colours, from bright yellow mangoes, to over-warm red earth and deep purple bougainvillea. There is a liveliness and resilience among the people and wherever you go, you will be routinely showered with great kindness and hospitality. If you visit South Africa, maybe you'll find your own explanation of why "this country gets under your skin", as the locals say. And of course we can't forget the Mother City - Cape Town. By far the gay capital of Africa, this city offers a unique mix of culture, nightlife and of course beautiful beaches.

Steven's Dining OUT! tips for the LGBT traveller

Food glorious food! This is one of the main reasons I choose to travel the world. You can learn so much about a country, its people and its culture by sampling the local delicacies. It's not always for the faint of heart but it always delivers an opportunity to experience the real world. Now, there are always some safety practicalities to consider like only drinking from bottled or secure water sources but it's equally important to know that the food is being prepared under safe, hygienic conditions. Your tour guide is probably the best source for pointing you in the right direction - especially in developing countries. Since they travel regularly through these regions they know where to go and what to eat. So, follow their lead and you will be pleasantly surprised.
