Explore outback frontier towns and working stations on this jam-packed jaunt through the outback. Rich with history and buzzing with legends and larrakins, this slice of Australia is in a world of its own. Get your hands dirty shearing sheep, throw a fishing line into the Warrego River or kick back under a shady coolabah tree and enjoy the tranquillity of the outback. Soak in an artesian spa and get a telescopic tour of the outback sky's constellations. From bush bashing on a sheep station to a pub crawl with the locals - this tour's more Aussie than a redback on a dunny seat.

Enjoy an icy-cold beer by the Brisbane River and perhaps wander through the arts precinct on its south bank. Board the train at dusk, bound for the outback.

Travel through open, sheep-speckled plains to Cunnamulla, a riverside pioneering town. Make like a Queenslander with a game of barefoot lawn bowls, beer and a barbecue. When night falls, get spooked with a tour of the town graveyard. Explore the calm Warrego River's waters in a kayak, have a crack at some fishing or simply listen to the chorus of birds while lazing on the riverbanks. Feast on Aussie tucker by the campfire and look to the skies with a telescopic tour of the outback's heavenly bodies.

Navigate a swing bridge at Rocky Station. Slip into an artesian spa for a relaxing soak. Have a go at making a traditional bush bread (damper) and billy tea. Check out the 27000 hectare Charlotte Plains station on a tour with the 3rd generation graziers Reid and Robyn.

After brunch in the bush, visit Lover's Leap. Fossick for an opal at Yowah, then get the loot cut to perfection. Peruse some local outback art, visit a date farm and indulge in some date wine and a mud bath, then share a beer and a yarn with the locals at the pub. Make sure to get the story on Isabel, the Eulo Queen.

After getting the John Dory (story) about the Cunnamulla airport, bid farewell to new friends and board the train back to Brisbane.
