You are required to carry your pack on and off trains and buses, up hotel steps, etc. Your itinerary may include easy paced walks or bike rides, but these are on mainly flat ground.

The trip includes a range of accommodation, such as basic hotels with western facilities or overnight trains. Days of being on the move are well interspersed, communication with the outside world is ever-present and a wide variety of food is commonly available.

2 (rating definition)

This trip travels to a relatively conservative area. We encourage you to experience the destination and culture with the following in mind:

Accommodation - We do not foresee any problems, however there may be occasions when a same sex couple may be asked to sleep in single beds rather than sharing a double. We appreciate your cooperation.
Public Display of affection - These are frowned upon in this region among all travellers, not just those on an OUT Adventure. This includes holding hands in public.
Gay Activities - This trip may not have specific gay hosted events, meals or day tours due to the cultural sensitivity of this region. We will do our best to provide a safe, comfortable environment for you and your fellow travellers to experience this culture.
Please read the important notes & local dress section of the Trip Notes for more detailed information

Whiz through the streets on a cyclo, find a bargain at Ben Thanh Market or watch artisans at work in one of the many lacquerware workshops. A private tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels is a chance to imagine life as a Viet Cong soldier.

Indulge in a luxurious beach break by the beautiful South China Sea. There are five wonderful options to choose from at either Nha Trang, Quy Nhon or Hoi An.

Much of Hoi An looks exactly as it did a century ago and a walking tour includes the Japanese Covered Bridge, fish markets and traditional wooden buildings. This charming town retains a sense of history and the Old Town is a great place to while away an afternoon sipping cafe au lait and enjoying cao lau, the city's legendary noodle dish.

Cross the scenic Hai Van Pass to Hue, pausing at the Museum of Cham Sculpture and Lang Co fishing village. Take a boat trip on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the imperial Citadel and the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc.

Get a feel for this charming city on a private tour, followed by a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter. With its wide boulevards and yellow painted buildings, the city centre still retains an air of a French provincial town of the 1930s.

Jump aboard a traditional wooden junk and cruise magnificent Halong Bay. Spend a serene night on the boat among thousands of limestone islets.

Spend a final morning swimming or kayaking in the bay before visiting a ceramics village. Back in Hanoi, enjoy the beautiful lakes, shaded boulevards and lush public parks at leisure.
